Registration for the Conference

The 2025 annual conference of the Finnish Literary Research Society will be organized 21.5 – 23.5.2025 in Joensuu. The theme of the conference is “Mirror”. The registration fee for the members of The Finnish Literary Research Society is 45 € and for non-members 65 €. The participation fee includes participation in the scientific program and coffee during the designated breaks. For undergraduate students, the event is free. Participation in the conference dinner held on Thursday, May 22nd at restaurant Filipof (€50) is registered via the same form. There is a limited number of places for the dinner, and places are filled in the order of registration.

ARRIVAL

Welcome to Joensuu – the regional center of North Karelia, the easternmost province of Finland!

Joensuu can be reached in an environmentally friendly way from across Finland by train or long-distance bus. There are also daily flights from Helsinki to Joensuu. If you are arriving by car, follow highways 5 or 6.

The University of Eastern Finland has two campuses. The Joensuu campus is compact, easy to navigate, and located just next to the city center along Yliopistokatu.

Approximately 9,000 degree students study on the Joensuu campus. It’s a lively area with many campus restaurants and cafés offering lunch and light snacks. The program for the Days of Literary Studies will take place in the Agora building on the Joensuu campus.

The nearest campus restaurants are Ravintola Aura and Ravintola Carelia. Vegan lunches are also available at Wicked Rabbit in the Metriatalo building and Kampus Bistro at Opiskelijakatu 7. Ravintola Pepé, located in the Metla Building, is also worth a visit – especially for those interested in wooden architecture.

The informal post-doctoral workshop gathering (at your own expense) will take place at Soossi, Coctails&Pizza
